Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin gave the order on Thursday after ACC Deputy Director Ahsan Ali pleaded for Mosharraf’s custody.
The BNP leader’s counsel moved a petition for bail, which the court rejected.
The BNP leader was arrested from his Gulshan residence on Wednesday night.
The national anti-graft agency on Feb 6 filed a money laundering case against Hossain, who was health minister in the BNP-led 2001-06 coalition government.
He is accused of laundering around Tk 95 million during his time as minister.
The BNP leader was granted anticipatory bail by the High Court but that was scrapped by the Appellate Division on Feb 24.
