BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is going to sit tonight (Monday night) with the conveners of 56 teams formed by her party to carry out a mass campaign across the country to drum up public support in favour of the party and its demand for holding the next polls under a non-party government.
The meeting will be held at BNP chief’s Gulshan office around 9pm, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.
Meanwhile, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press briefing on Monday said BNP and its 18-party alliance partners will carry out organisational activities and senior leaders will make visits to district level until 31 August to revitalise the respective parties.
“To this end, our party BNP has formed 56 teams which will visit our 75 organisational districts across the country till 31 August. During the visits, they will take initiatives to organise the 18-party alliance further,” he said.
The team will also work for strengthening BNP and its all associate bodies so that they can play a dynamic role at all levels.
Party sources said the BNP teams, each led by a central leader, will make people aware of the government’s misdeeds, corruption and repressive acts, and increase public involvement in their ongoing movement.
At the meeting with the conveners of the teams, Khaleda will work out campaign strategies and give them necessary directives to maker their efforts fruitful.
