Inu ridicules opposition

He told reporters in Kushtia on Tuesday that the BNP will bite off more than it can chew.

Regarding the BNP’s threat to go full throttle in its movement to oust the government after Oct 24, Inu said, “The dream of ousting the government after Oct 24, unseating Hasina from power, breaking Hasanul Haq Inu’s leg, Khaleda returning to power and establishing dynastic rule will turn into a nightmare.”

As per the new provisions of the Constitution introduced by the the 15th Amendment, the general election will have to be held between Oct 25 and Jan 24, 2014.

During that time, the Awami League will continue to rule and Parliament will remain intact.

The opposition fears elections held under the ruling-party government would not be free and fair, but Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina insists on holding the polls as per the Constitution.

The Business Advisory Committee has also said that the present session could continue up to Oct 24, 2013.

However, the opposition has already announced a major agitation against the government from Oct 25 if it refuses to pass a bill restoring the provision for a poll-time caretaker government.

Inu, also the President of Awami League’s ally JaSaD, told reporters on Tuesday, “People are not fools; the opposition’s wishes will not be fulfilled.”

“The BNP’s dream to establishing the rule of the Taliban, Bangla Bhai and Tarique-Coco will become a nightmare.”
