Hefajat-e-Islam on Saturday announced to hold a grand rally in the capital on November 15 to press home their various demands, including cancellation of Qawmi Education Law-2013 and implementation of their 13-point demand.
Their other demands include the release of their detained leaders and judicial investigation into the ‘mass killing’ at Shapla Chattar.
Hefajat’s central joint secretary general and member secretary of Dhaka unit Maulana Junaid Al Habib announced the programme from a rally at Hathazari Parbati High School ground in the evening.
He said Hefajat’s Ameer Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi will conduct payers at the rally and threatened that they will announce tougher programmes, including nonstop hartal, if their rally is obstructed.
Hefajat’s Chittagong north district unit president Salahuddin Nanupuri chaired the grand rally while Ahmed Shafi attended it as the chief guest.
In his speech, Ahmed Shafi said Hefajat’s demand over women policy was presented before the nation in a distorted way. “We talked about women’s pardah (veil) but never said that they won’t be allowed to go to their workplaces,” he said.
“No one will be able to survive going against Iman, Aqida and Islam. Olama Mashayekhs are ready to face all the attacks on Islam and Muslims,” he added.
Hefajat will also hold grand rallies in Sylhet on November 7 and Khulna on November 8.
