Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had a meeting with President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday afternoon, two days after her party’s winning of absolute majority in the 10th parliamentary elections.
Sources at the Bangabhaban said the meeting between the President and the Prime Minister began at 4:15 pm and ended till 5:45 pm.
Prime Minister’s Adviser Barrister Shafique Ahmed and Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam accompanied Sheikh Hasina.
Awami League won absolute majority in Sunday’s national election that was marked by massive violence and low turnout amid boycott by the opposition alliance.
