Govt misleading people about polls-time admin: BNP

BNP standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan on Saturday alleged that the government is misleading people about dialogue with the opposition by making contradictory remarks.

“On one hand they (govt) talk about dialogue and on the other say the election will be held as per the constitution. And again they say it’ll be held under an interim government. In fact, they’re totally confused about the election-time administration,” he told a discussion.

Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Prajanma arranged the programme at the National Press Club, marking BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman’s 32nd death anniversary.

Moyeen Khan alleged that the government is trying to cling to power through confusing people, fearing its debacle in the general election if it is held under a non-party administration.

He urged the government to create an environment for the dialogue and resolve the political crisis through discussions.

The BNP leader termed the proposed budget a lame-duck effort and said it will not bring any good for people.
