The prime accused of raping a Garo girl at the city’s Badda, Rafsan Hossain Rubel, managed to flee from the chamber of a magistrate after he was taken there to record confessional statement.
Rubel was kept at the chamber of metropolitan magistrate Emdadul Huq and he managed to flee.
Kotwali police officer-in-charge Abul Hasan said he came to know that the accused fled from court and police was trying to arrest him again.
Rapid Action Battalion on Friday arrested Rubel at the city’s airport rail station area.
There are nine cases of rape, terrorism and extortion against Rubel with Badda and Rampura police stations.
