Ganagajagaran Manch happy over SQC verdict

Voicing satisfaction over the death sentence against BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, Ganajagaran Manch activists on Tuesday said it is the verdict of the nation.

“People’s expectation has been fulfilled with the verdict,” Ganajagaran Manch spokesperson Imran H Sarkar told reporters in an instant reaction after the International Crimes Tribunal-1 pronounced the verdict sentencing BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury to death on war crimes charges.

He also said Salauddin Quader Chowdhury had not only opposed the Liberation War of Bangladesh, but also refused to accept Bangladesh as an independent country.

“We want to send out a message to the anti-liberation forces that there’s no place in Bangladesh for Razakars. We the sons of freedom fighters will resist the anti-liberation forces trying to make Bangladesh a dysfunctional state,” Imran said.

Meanwhile, Ganajagaran Manch activists brought out a jubilant procession from Shahbagh at about 1:30pm and marched towards Dhaka University’s TSC rejoicing the verdict.
