The page, https://www.facebook.com/sajeeb.a.wazed., on Tuesday night was seen having a ‘blue tick mark’ beside his name which means the page has been verified as genuinely run by the person himself.

Facebook’s Verified Pages are designed for celebrities, high-profile people and businesses with authentic accounts.
There are several pages in Joy’s name on the popular social media site.

Prime Minister’s Special Assistant (Media) Mahbubul Hoque Shakil on his own Facebook wall wrote, “This is the first time Facebook authorities have given official acknowledgement to the page of any Bangladeshi citizen.”

‘Extra-constitutional government is wrong’

Meanwhile, in a post on his page on Tuesday evening, Joy said there should not be any provisions of unconstitutional government.

He wrote the Constitution of a democratic country must not have any provision for takeover by an extra-constitutional government.

“The other danger of any Caretaker system of course is what happened in 1/11. We don’t want to leave any opportunity open for an extra constitutional government to take over.”

“My mother spent 11 months in jail for nothing that she had done. Democracy and all rights were suspended. We do not wish to go back to that.”

At a press briefing at Ganabhaban on Sunday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again had rejected the opposition’s demand for restoring the caretaker government system, which was scrapped through the 15th Constitutional Amendment in 2011.

“The Constitution will not be amended before the election. (We) amended the Constitution with the people’s mandate. The election will be in line with the Constitution. I will not move an inch,” she said.

Following her declaration, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday said, “At least 90 percent of the people want the elections under a nonpartisan government. There is still time – pass the Bill for a non-party government after placing it in Parliament and hold fair polls.”

Joy in his facebook post on Tuesday said people of Bangladesh do not want any unconstitutional government which strips them off their fundamental and democratic rights and only has corrupt intentions.
