Face cyber propaganda effectively: Ashraf to AL followers

as

Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Saturday urged the party leaders to take effective steps to face the cyber propaganda of the anti-liberation and militant forces against the country, its independence and development activities if the government.

Ashraf came up with the remarks while delivering his introductory speech at the central working committee meeting of the party held with AL chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at her official residence Ganobhaban.

Citing the examples of a section of newspaper blogs, including Bengali and English ones, Ashraf said a big part of Islami Chhatra Shibir and militant activists used to post comments after the uploading of news propagating against the government’s development activities, the country and its independence.

“We have to put emphasis on this cyber propaganda and face this with some bold and effective steps involving the young generation,” he said.

Referring to the raise of militant activities in the United Kingdom, the AL general secretary said these days the East London and its mosque became the den of militants of Europe and it is expanding day by day.

“There’s no reason to get relaxed saying this is not our problem. Maybe this is not our problem right now, but it might be ours tomorrow,” he said.

At this point, the Prime Minister also supported her deputy saying this militant force might carry out dangerous activities in Bangladesh, too.

Syed Ashraf said he AL central working committee always had taken right and historical decisions in its working committee meetings in the past, and recalled its decisions on the Language Movement, Six-Point Movement and the Liberation War.

He also said the ruling party has many works to finish for making the country as the golden Bengal as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The AL central working committee discussed the programmes for Bengali new year (Apr 14), historic Mujibnagar Day (Apr 17), Great May Day (May 1), historic Homecoming Day of Sheikh Hasina (May 17), birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam (May 25) and the recent political situation of the country.
