Detectives, investigating the murder of Special Branch police inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna, on Saturday claimed that victims’ daughter Oishee Rahman was involved in the gruesome killing.

They also said the slain couple was made to take coffee laced with seductive tablets before they were stabbed to death inside their flat at ‘Chameli Mansion’ at the city’s Chamelibagh under Motijheel Police Station.

Briefing reporters at DMP Media Centre, Joint Commissioner (Detective Branch) of DMP Monirul Islam said they, after preliminary interrogation, got sure about Oishee’s involvement in her parents murder.

He said DB police recovered some ornaments, which were missing from the couple’s flat, from Oishee’s bag. “Oishee took away the ornaments in her bag while leaving the flat after the killing,” Joint Commissioner (JC) Monir said.

He also said the DB police also recovered some evidence in connection with the killing.

Replying to a question, JC Monir said they took six people, including Oishee, domestic help Sumi and Oishee’s intimate friend Jony alias Ronny into custody for interrogation.

The detectives unearthed the motive behind the killing but the JC Monir did not elaborate.

Earlier at noon, Oishee Rahman came to the Paltan Police Station around 2:30 pm on and surrendered to the police. She was later taken to the DB office at Mintoo road.

Oishee, an O-level student of Oxford International School, along with domestic help Sumi remained missing since the murder of her parents.

Police recovered the bodies of Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna from their Chamelibagh residence on Friday evening. There were marks of injuries caused from sharp weapons allover the bodies of the victims.

The couple had been living in the house with their two children – Oishee, 15. and Oihee,7, — and housemaid Sumi.

A postmortem report on Saturday revealed that the couple was stabbed to death by at least two or more killers.
