Country receives US$ 14,461.14mn remittance in last FY

The remittance inflow in the country has stood at US$ 1,007.32 million as of July 26, according to the central bank’s provisional figure.

 

Country’s remittance inflow totalled US$ 14,461.14 million in the fiscal 2012-13 compared to US$ 12,843.43 million and US$11,650.31 million earned in the previous two fiscals respectively.

 

As stated by the provisional figure of the Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank, US$ 629.9 million remittance came through private commercial banks, while US$ 354.07, US$ 11.02 and US$ 12.33 through state-owned, specialised and foreign banks respectively.

 

The central bank data also showed that out of the total amount remitted until July 26, the highest US$ 252.98 came through Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd, followed by US$ 123.59 million through Agrani Bank Ltd and US$ 109.98 million by Rupali Bank Ltd.
