Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday said that the 10-member committee to find out and take action against those making objectionable comments against Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) using facebook and blog is performing their duties properly.
“The government is taking legal actions as per the report of the Committee,” she said responding to a starred question of Faridunnahar Laily (Women Seat-18) during the PM’s question-answer session in Parliament.
Hasina hoped that there will be no such cyber crime in the near future.
The government on March 13 this year formed the 10-member committee at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The committee is headed by Additional Secretary of the Home Ministry Mainuddin Khandakar.

The committee could take help from any expert and it (committee) would be given secretarial support from the Home Ministry.
Hasina said that the Committee so far held four meetings on March 21, 27 and 31, and April 10.
She mentioned that as per the decision of the Committee, the government put the matter of the bloggers under the jurisdiction of the law and take action against the acting editor of Daily Amar Desh newspaper.
