CCC aspirant Nasir charged with murder in the past

Dhaka South City mayoral aspirant, BNP leader Mirza Abbas, is currently facing 37 cases while his prime rival Awami League-backed Sayeed Khokon has faced three cases in the past.
BNP-supported mayoral aspirant in Chittagong city Mohammad Manjur Alam has no legal trouble at present, like his rival AL-backed AJM Nasir, though the latter had earlier faced three criminal cases, including for murder.
The information became available
the affidavits submitted to the Election Commission with nomination papers.
The affidavits of the mayoral aspirants in the Dhaka North City Corporation were not available till the filing of this report Monday evening.
According to their wealth statements, Sayeed Khokon has lesser wealth than his rival Mirza Abbas.
A graduate, Sayeed Khokon mentioned in his statement that he has insurance business, hotel business, trading business and export-import business.
He owns Sayeed Khokon Properties Limited, Indo JSA Match Industries Limited, Three A Hotel and Plaza Limited, M/S S and S Corporation and Dhaka Traders.
Khokon’s income is generated from house/apartment rent, shop rent and others. These are worth of Tk 32,34,150 per annum.
His second income source is business, which generates Tk 8,32,630  per annum and Tk 10,80,000 per annum as directors’ honorarium.
Khokon’s movable wealth includes Tk 1,10,46,578 cash, Tk 43,476 deposit,  Tk 17,71,90,675 and Tk 1,47,00,000  in shares, motor vehicles worth of Tk 38,00,000, furniture and electronics items as gift, and business profit at Tk 34,04,487.
His immovable wealth includes non-agricultural land worth of Tk 2,30,000, inherited property worth of Tk 26, 89,49,000.
Khokon has Tk 19,27,77,000 bank loan.
Another aspirant Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed is also a graduate. There are 37 cases against him at present, and 24 in the past.
He is a businessman and owner of Mirza Enterprise.
His income is generated from house rent worth of Tk 1, 05, 81,543 per annum, and from shares in the capital market, savings certificates, etc at Tk 6, 27,15,290 per annum, and other sources Tk 1,74,250.
Abbas’s movable wealth includes cash Tk 50,00,000, deposited money worth of Tk 10,62,123, prize bonds worth of Tk 35,06,79,100 and 4,24,835,845, permanent savings 10,65,57,149, car worth of Tk 97,50,000, gold Tk 2,00,000, electronics items worth Tk 10,00,000, furniture worth of Tk7,00,000 and others, Tk 90,00,000.
He has immovable wealth worth of Tk 1,84,80,000, non-agricultural land, buildings (holding number 871, South Shahjahanpur) worth of  Tk1,35,48,123 and (925/B South Shahjahanpur) worth of Tk2,62,59,645, advance for land Tk 40,00,00,000.
Abbas has loan worth of Tk 75, 65, 25, 903.
There are three cases against another mayoral aspirant Abdus Salam, treasurer of the BNP.
Businessman Salam is owner of M/s Faisal Enterprise and M/S Shawon Sagor Enterprise.
His income from house rent was Tk 4,45,500.
Salam has Tk 3219378.75 cash, Tk 1857121.25 deposited in bank, microbus, gold worth Tk 35,000. He has 42 decimal non-agricultural land and a six-storied building.
Salam has bank loan for vehicle worth of Tk 5,16,255.
In his wealth statement, AJM Nasir said he is currently facing no cases, but said he had faced two murder cases and one attempt-to-murder case from which he was acquitted before 2001.
In his affidavit, he said he is a businessman and has land developing business, sweater factory, fishing business, ghat leasing out business and oil transport business.
He claimed he earns Tk 3.20 crore from his businesses per year. He also gets salary of Tk 42 lakh per year as the director of his company. He also gets Tk 3,000 per year as Wakf beneficiary, Tk 25,000 from unknown sources and Tk 4,744 as bank interests per year.
Nasir said he has both moveable and immovable properties of Tk 11,50,79,260 and 10 katha land in Dhaka, while his wife has nearly Tk 50,00,000.
In his wealth statement, he said he has a total of Tk 1,84,690 in cash, Tk 91,036 saved in banks, Tk 10,74,55,498 as proprietorship capital, Tk 9,19,698 as shares in the stock market, Tk 21,22,500 of company share, Tk 41,65,838 as fixed deposit and life insurance deposit.
He has an old jeep and electrical appliances of Tk 1,40,000.
He said he has a piece of 10 katha non-arable land in Dhaka and inherited one-sixth of the properties from his father. He, however, did not mention the amount of those properties.
Manjur Alam said he is currently facing no criminal cases but had to face one civil suit and one corruption case in the past.
Businessman Manjur Alam stated that he is chairman, managing director and director of 12 business establishments including Golden Iron Wax Limited, Alhaj Mostafa Hakim Housing and Real Estate Limited, Alhaj Mostafa Hakim Cement Industry Limited, Eagle Star Textile Mills Limited, Mutual Jute Spinners Limited and Standard Bank Limited.
He has wealth of Tk 36,77,09,671 including his homestead and lands.
Manjur Alam has a total of Tk 1,69,03,645 in cash, shares amounting to Tk 28,39,07,983 in different companies, vehicles of Tk 4,30,000, ornaments of Tk 2,33,000, electrical appliances of Tk 2,10,000, furniture of Tk 2,08,500, non-arable lands, including homestead, worth Tk 6,58,16,543.
He said he earn Tk 50,000 per year from agricultural sector, Tk 35,07,006 as rent of flats and business establishment, Tk 3,20,000 from businesses, Tk 7,17,851 from shares and savings, Tk 1,14,89,515 from professional duties like teaching and consultancy and earns Tk 8,49,000 as mayoral honorarium per year.
His wife has wealth of nearly Tk 2.25 crore.
