“The discussion with Awami League to have a solution to the ongoing crisis has begun. This will continue. It was decided in the meeting to continue the talks,” the BNP leader told reporters while leaving the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office.
Earlier in the day, representatives of Awami League and BNP held a closed-door meeting with UN Assistant Secretary General Oscar Fernández-Taranco at the Gulshan residence of UN Resident Coordinator Neal Walker.

Mosharraf said they in presence of Taranco elaborately discussed how the next general election can be held in a free and fair manner with the participation of all parties after creating a level-playing field.
Asked whether their first day discussion successful, the BNP leader said, “It was initial talks. We’ve decided to sit again. It’s not the right time to make comment about the progress of the dialogue.”
Mosharraf said they held the meeting on Tuesday at the invitation of the vesting UN envoy. “We hope we’ll sit in talks in the days to come at the invitation of UN Resident Coordinator Neal Walker.”
