Yogesh Varshney, a leader of the BJP’s youth wing in Bengal, has threatened Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, declaring a reward of Rs11lakh, for her head.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s member Yogesh delivered the outrageous threat while protesting against the chief minister over a police baton-charge on a rally held on Sunday marking Hanuman Jayanti in Birbhum near Kolkata, reports NDTV.

While alleging the police brutally beat up people, Yogesh tagged Chief Minister Mamata as a “demon” and said: “When I saw the video, I only had one thought… that if anyone gets me Mamata Banerjee’s head I will give them 11lakh.”

Yogesh also claimed that Birbhum rally was conducted by Hindu devotees saying “Jai Sri Ram”who were not members of any political party. He accused Mamata Banerjee of “targeting Hindus”.

Earlier, the police did not permit the Birbhum rally demonstration and allegedly used batons when the procession was entering Madrasa Road, around 180km from Kolkata.

Swords held up during a previous rally on Ram Navami enraged the chief minister, who said: “Some BJP leaders who do not know the culture of Bengal are flashing swords on the streets to intimidate people.”
