The Port State Control Office at the German port detained the oil tanker vessel Banglar Agradoot on August 23, according to sources at Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) as well as BSC.
However, BSC Managing Director Commodore Suman Mahmud Sabbir said the Port State Control Office gave some observations while most of those were not serious issues at all.
Many of the alleged deficiencies were nothing but human errors like the lack of entry of some information, he added.
There were no allegation on safety or equipment damage, he said.
Two international classification societies, including Bureau Veritas, took efforts to satisfy the authorities and allow the vessel to leave the port after unloading product, Sabbir informed.
BSC bought the vessel from China in 2018 and it got registered in the country in the following year.
A Singaporean company is now operating the vessel on charter hire.
Meanwhile, Mercantile Marine Department on Thursday issued an office order mentioning that detention of the Bangladeshi flagged vessel in Germany with so many deficiencies is a matter of national concern.
It stated that this is a clear reflection of poor management and operation.
In its office order signed by MMD Principal Officer Captain Giashuddin Ahmed directed all the Bangladeshi ship owners, managers, operators, vessel management officers to be more conscious and maintain compliance strictly.
