Babunagri on 22-day fresh remand

 A court here on Thursday placed Hefajat-e-Islam secretary general Junaid Babunagri on a 22-day remand in the cases filed in connection with May 5 violence.
Metropolitan Magistrate M Mostafizur Rahman passed the order turning down the bail petition of defence lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia.
Three investigation officer of Motijheel thana sub-inspector Mohammad Awal Hossain, Mohammad Mokarram Hossain and Mostafizur Rahman produced Babunagri to the court seeking remand for 26 days.
After hearing, the court granted a 22-day remand for him.
On May 6, SI Mohammad Zakir Hossain filed the case with Motijheel Police Station against Junaid Babunagri and unidentified 50,000 Hefajat men on charges of killing a policeman and exploding crude bombs in the city on May 5.
Police arrested the Hefajat secretary general from Dhakeshwari Temple area in Lalbaghon on that night.
