Asian Games cricket Tigresses beat Nepal women, reach semi

Bangladesh women have reached semifinals, defeating Nepal women by 81 runs in their first match in the quarter-final of the Asian Games cricket at Yeonhai Cricket ground on Wednesday.

The Nepal women won the toss and was elected to field first, reported ESPN.

Batting first, Bangladesh made a good start scoring 5.35 runs per over. Ayasha Rahman scored 51 runs while Shahanaz Perveen scored 12 runs before she was caught by S Magar.

Bangladesh scored 107 for 4 wickets in 20 overs while Nepal scored only 26 runs all out in 15.3 overs.

Salama Khatun and Rumana Ahmed turned the match in Bangladesh’s favour taking three wickets each.

Jahanara Alam and Fahima Khatun took two wickets each for Bangladesh.

Fall of Bangladesh wickets: 1-36 (Shahanaz Parvin, 8.5 ov), 2-57 (Fargana Hoque, 12.1 ov), 3-69 (Salma Khatun, 13.3 ov), 4-87 (Lata Mondal, 17.5 ov).

Fall of Nepal wickets: 1-3 (SR Magar, 2.1 ov), 2-4 (Verma, 2.2 ov), 3-13 (Nary Thapa, 6.3 ov), 4-13 (Chaudhary, 6.5 ov), 5-14 (S Magar, 7.1 ov), 6-17 (Rawal, 9.5 ov), 7-18 (Karuna Bhandari, 10.2 ov), 8-21 (Belbashi, 12.2 ov), 9-24 (Khadka, 14.2 ov), 10-26 (Anjali Chand, 15.3 ov).
