AL council: Routes to take and avoid

Ahead of the council of Awami League on October 22-23, DMP had earlier announced to control traffic movements in some routes.

Besides, the admission test of BUET will take place on October 21 and around nine thousand students will take part in the exam. So the traffic movement might take an horrific turn in the Suhrawardi Uddayan and its adjacent areas.

DMP media release says the VIP road from Jahangir Gate to Bijoy Sarani and Karwan Bazar to Shahbagh route will be kept shut from 8:00am and all vehicles will have to use Ruposhi Bangla-Shahbag-TCS-Right turn-DU campus route.

Vehicles coming from Mawa/Sadarghat/Babubazar must use Gulistan-Zero Point-Left turn-Abdul Gani Road-Old High Court crossing-Doel Chattar-Du Campus route.

Vehicles coming from Chittagong-Sylhet shall use Jatrabari-Kanchpur-Mayor Flyover-Chankharpul-Doel Chattar-Bakshi Bazar-DU Campus route.

The route of Matsya Bhaban-Kakrail-Bijoy Sarani will be shut off at least 2 hours before Prime Minister’s departure from the venue. Thus vehicle shall ply using UBL-Kakrail Church- Magbazar-Mahakhali route.

The vehicles coming from Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi will use the Mirpur Road via Manik Miah Avenue-Russell Square-Science Laboratory intersection-New Market-Nilkhet Crossing-DU campus or though Azimpur crossing-Palashi-DU campus route.

Diversion point:

No vehicles will ply from Manik Mia Avenue to Farmgate and from Rusel Square to Panthapath. All vehicles will ply using New Market-Science Laboratory-New Market-Azimpur-Palsahi.

Vehicles won’t ply from Kataban to Shahbagh, TSC to Doyel Chattar, Shahbagh to Matsya Bhaban, Doyel Chattar to High Court, UBL to Kadam Foyara, Kakrail Church to kakrail Mosjid.

Carpet Goli, Poribag Gap, Shilpokola Academy Gap, Minto Road crossing and Officers Intercestion will be closed.
