Measures will be taken against BNP chief Khaleda Zia for her seditious remark on Satkhira raids, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim has said.
“Police will take measures against Khaleda Zia in due time for her seditious remark on the Satkhira operations,” Nasim told a media briefing on Thursday.
The BNP Chairperson at a rally on Monday had said there was another force other than security forces involved in the Satkhira operations.
Ruling Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam had asked Khaleda Zia on Tuesday to withdraw her statement within 24 hours and apologise to the nation.
If the BNP chief does not do that, legal action will be taken against her, Ashraf had said.
Drawing his attention to the issue, Nasim said on Thursday that Khaleda has been irresponsible in hinting forces from another country was involved in the Satkhira operation.
“She (Khaleda Zia) should calm down. She is trying to shoulder responsibility after suffering a political defeat.”
Replying to a query he said, “The election was held as per the constitution and the next election will be held according to the constitution as well.
“So, there is no chance for any talks on elections.”
