The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate Aslamul Haque, a ruling party MP (Dhaka-14), on March 5 next over the allegation of illegal wealth accumulation by him.
The Commission on Wednesday sent a notice to Aslamul asking him to be present in person at the ACC head office to face grilling on the stipulated date, ACC sources said.
As per the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission for the last parliamentary polls in 2014 by him, he and his wife had land of over 145 acres worth about Tk two crore.
However, Aslamul in his affidavit submitted to the EC ahead of the 9th parliamentary polls in 2008 had mentioned that he and his wife have 4.19 acres of land worth only Tk 20 lakh.
Earlier, on January 12 last, the ACC launched probes into the allegations of unusual wealth accumulation by seven politicians, including Aslamul Haque.
The ACC in its first phase is now conducting probes into the graft allegations against former Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Water Resources M Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque, MP, (Rajshahi-4), Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP, (Ukhia-Teknaf), Aslamul Haque, MP, (Dhaka-14) and Abdul Jabbar, a former MP (Satkhira-2).
