At least four vehicles were torched by miscreants ahead of the 60-hour hartal called by the BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance from Monday morning demanding a non-party polls-time government for overseeing the next parliamentary election.
Police said a staff bus of Janata Bank was torched near Motijheel Ideal School around 10am, while another bus set afire near BSTI office in Tejgaon area around 11:45am.
Yet another bus was torched in front of Abakash Hotel in Mohakhali area of the city around 2pm, while a CGN-run auto-rickshaw was set ablaze at Malibagh Chowdhurypara at 1:55pm in addition to explosion of three crude bombs.
