Police filed a case against a couple of hundred Hefajat-e-Islam men for attacking the leaders and activists of Ekattorer Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee and vandalising their stage at Mohakhali on Monday.
A Sub-Inspector, Zakir Hossain, of Banani Police Station filed the case Monday night accusing the unidentified 200 to 300 Hefajat supporters, said Kazi Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC-Investigation) of the police station.
Asked he said no name was mentioned in the case as the accused and none was arrested in this connection.
Several hundred people, who were on way to take part at the rally of Hefajat-e-Islam at Motijheel, swooped on the people of the Nirmul Committee while they were staying at Mohakhali during the hartal programme called by Gonojagoron Mancha and many other organisations.
The attacks by the Hefajat-e-Islam also left several people injured.
