Did you know that the Bangladesh Army once had a very close working relationship with the rogue Kuki Chin National Front’s leader, Nathan Bawm? The connection was so strong that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division even attended an event hosted by the Kuki Chin National Development Organization (KNDO) in 2015.
There are instance’s where central office of KNDO was inaugurated by the brigade commander of the 69th Infantry Brigade. According to multiple military sources, it was a few senior officers of the Bangladesh Army who played a significant role in establishing the organization that the KNF has become today.
Like many others, I wonder what went wrong in the process that turned them hostile towards the very military that supported them in their early days.
