8 Hindu houses torched in Thakurgaon

 

Eight dwelling houses of four Hindu families were gutted as miscreants torched those at Chameswari Napitpara village in Sadar upazila early Monday.

 

Police and affected families said the miscreants set fire to the houses of Dodi Mohan, Satyan, Jiten and Sakalu around 3am.

 

The fire burned down all the valuables, including over 200 sacks of paddy and rice, of the eight houses.

 

On information, two firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze with the help of locals. Four people were also injured while extinguishing the fire.

 

The fire service worked out the losses caused by the fire at Tk 20 lakh.

 

Contacted, police super of Thakurgaon Faisal Mahmud said police visited the spot. “Those who are responsible for the incident will be brought to book after investigation.”
