7 more bloggers to be arrested: MKA

Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir on Wednesday said seven more bloggers will be arrested as his ministry has identified 11 bloggers who are involved in posting anti-Islamic write-ups on the internet.
“Plainclothes police have already arrested four of the bloggers who denigrated Islam and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) while the remaining ones would be arrested soon,” he said.
The Home Minister made the remarks while talking to reporters after a high-profile meeting with several ministers at his office in the afternoon.
The Home Ministry formed a nine-member committee, headed by its Additional Secretary Mainuddin Khandker, on March 13 to identify bloggers involved in posting anti-Islamic contents on different blogs and social sites.
About the April 6 long march of Hefazat-e-Islam towards Dhaka from Chittagong, MK Alamgir said the government would not obstruct the programme should it be peaceful.
The Hefazat-e-Islam announced to hold the long march demanding the arrest of ‘anti-Islamic bloggers, atheists and the enemies of Islam’.
The Home Minister said the BNP-led 18-party alliance will be held responsible if they try to create anarchy taking part in the long march programme to make their political gains.
Food Minister Abdur Razzaque, Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, State Minister for Law Quamrul Islam, State Minister for LGRD Jahangir Kabir Nanak, State Minister for Home Affairs Shamsul Hoque Tuku and Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif attended the meeting.
