The High Court today upheld death for three militants of banned outfit Huji including its chief Mufti Abdul Hannan over 2004 attack on UK envoy in Bangladesh.
The two other condemned militants are Sharif Shahedul Alam Bipul and Delwar Hossain alias Ripon.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain also upheld the life imprisonment for two other Huji militants — Muhibullah alias Muhibur Rahman alias Ovi and Mufti Main Uddin alias Abu Zandal — in this case.

The bench came up with the order after dismissing the appeals filed by the convicts with the HC in 2009 seeking acquittal.
In the attack on May 21, 2004 three people were killed at Hazrat Shahjalal Shrine in Sylhet. About 70 others were injured.
The Bangladesh-born envoy, barely 18 days into his new assignment, suffered minor leg injuries in the grenade explosion after Juma prayers.
All the convicts are in Dhaka Central Jail, Deputy Attorney General AKM Moniruzzaman Kabir told The Daily Star today.
On December 23, 2008, the Sylhet Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal found the five convicts guilty and pronounced the judgement.
