Of the students, 80 were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Hatibandha Hospital, local sources said.
Mansika, a non-government organisation, supplied the high-protein biscuits to class III to V students of Par Sheikh Sundhor Government Primary School, Nij Sheikh Sundhor Government Primary School and Pitti Fata Government Primary School at Saniajan union and Chhoi-Ani Government Primary School and Nij Goddimari Government Primary School at Goddimari union for feeding students on Tuesday morning.
The biscuits are provided with assistance from the European Union.
Guardians of the students said the kids complained of stomachache and then started vomiting immediately after having biscuits in the morning.
On information, Hatibandha upazila chairman Bodiuzzman Bhelu visited the schools and ensured the sick students’ admission to the hospitals.
According to the guardians, the school authorities distributed the date-expired biscuits.
