Awami League leader Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif has said those who tried to remove the Awami League and BNP chiefs through the one-eleven changeover were active again.
“It is not only the opposition who are conspiring in the country. Those architects of one-eleven are on the rise again. They are trying to confuse the people,” he said in a discussion on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, former advisor to a caretaker government Akbar Ali Khan had taken part in a programme that asserted that the country was not safe in the hands of the ‘the two leaders’.
Khan said that not even the Mughal Badshahs or the Russian Tsar had as much power the Prime Minister of Bangladesh enjoys.
Reacting to that remark, Hanif, a special advisor to the Prime Minister, said: “Then in whose hands are the people safe if not in the hands of the two leaders?”
“The nation wants to know if it is safe in hands of those who have no ties with the people, or who flee country during troubled times,” he said.
Hanif was speaking in a political discussion at Shilpakala Academy arranged by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote.
