1 killed as train hits bus in Ctg

One person was killed and 12 others injured as a train rammed a bus at Ispahani level crossing in Chittagong on Thursday morning. The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Himangsu Das, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police station, said the Chittagong-bound ‘Meghna Express’ train from Chandpur rammed the bus when it was passing through the level crossing at about 11:15am, leaving one passenger of the bus dead on the spot and 12 others injured.
The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Among the injured, condition of Abul Kashem, 60, and Mahbubul Alam, 50, was stated to be critical. The Bangladesh Railway has formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the bus-train collision headed by divisional transport officer Firoz Iftekhar. The committee was asked to submit report within three working days.
