Zillur’s body to be flown in Dhaka Thursday noon

The body of President Zillur Rahman will be flown in Dhaka on Thursday noon.

President’s press secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan told UNB that a special flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying Zillur’s mortal remains will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12 noon.

The President died on Wednesday at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 84.

Zillur Rahman, one of the organisers of the country’s Liberation War, breathed his last at around 4.47pm (BST).

He took oath of office as President on February 12, 2009.
