Rizvi: AL members occupying polling centres

Rijvi

The Election Commission is the slave of the government, says Rizvi

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the ruling party leaders and activists were trying to take control over the polling centres across the country in order to obstruct the BNP supporters to cast votes.

He made the statement in a press conference held at the party’s central office on Thursday.

Rizvi said: “The ruling-party activists had taken position in all the 192 risky polling centres by 10am.”

He claimed that the BNP-backed candidates were “drived out” from the polling centres by the ruling party men.

Claiming that the Awami League members are obstructing the minority community people from using their voting rights, he said: “Around 70,000 Hindu voters were stopped from going to the voting centres in Keraniganj.”

Terming the Election Commission as the slave of the government, the BNP leader demanded resignation of the Election Commissioners.
