Pubali Bank donates Tk 2cr for Ashulia, Ctg victims

Pubali Bank Limited donated Tk 2 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to help the victims of Ashulia garment factory fire and Chittagong flyover collapse.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the check from Atik Ahmed, chairman of the bank, at her official residence Gono Bhaban in the capital in the evening.

Noorelahi Mina, assistant press secretary to the premier, confirmed it to The Daily Star.

At least 111 people were killed and 100 injured in a devastating fire at Tazreen Fashion Ltd at Nischintapur on the capital’s suburb Ashulia on November 24.

On the other hand, 12 people were killed and 15 injured when the concrete girders of an under-construction flyover at Bahaddarhat in Chittagong collapsed on a kitchen market on the same day.
