Pointing out BNP’s acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, who is hiding out in London, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday, said killers and money-launderers must be punished.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said “We have tried the killers of Bangabandhu and war criminals defying all odds and obstacles.”

“There’s no mercy for killers and money-launderers. The nation won’t forgive them, no matter where they hide and whatever amount of money they spend,” she said at a views-exchange meeting at the Taj Hotel in London on Thursday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the courts have given verdicts against  killers and money-launderers.”We’ll take measures so that the verdicts are executed…. whatever slogans they raise and whatever offensive words they use…they must be punished,” she said.

The United Kingdom (UK) chapter of Bangladesh Awami League and its associate bodies organized the views-exchange meeting with UK Awami League President Sultan Mahmud Sharif in the chair.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Md Shahriar Alam, was present on the dais, while UK Awami League General Secretary Syed Shazidur Rahman conducted the function.

Pointing out BNP’s false propaganda against the government, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, said those who were born illegally and through falsehood, they see everything against the law.

“Trading in lies is the character of BNP and they’ve become masters of immense wealth, embezzling money from orphans and siphoning it off abroad,” she said.
