News - PM, MKA to be sued for killing innocent Muslims: BNP
BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah on Thursday said cases will be filed against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir for what he said their involvement in killing innocent Muslims.

“We’ve observed religious and devoted Muslims were gunned down when they brought out processions from Baitul Mukarram Mosque in protest against anti-Islam activities of bloggers,” he said.

Addressing a human-chain programme in front of the National Press Club, the BNP leader also said, “Although the innocent Muslims had no guns or bullets in their hands, they were killed at the behest of the Prime Minister and Home Minister. Even they were not pro-Jamaat activists. We want to categorically say cases will be filed against the PM and Home Minister for directives.”

Rafiqul Islam made the remark apparently in response to MK Alamgir’s recent comment that BNP chief Khaleda Zia and other 18-party top leaders will be made accused for instigating violence.

Referring to the recent spate of killing across the country, the BNP policymaker said those who are involved in the killings will be put on trial one day.

Observing that the government is on the verge of collapse, the former minister said, “The boat of the government is about to sink. Nobody wants to step into the sinking boat. No one will cast vote for boat either in the days to come.”

Kamrangirchar thana unit BNP arranged the human chain demanding the release of the 18-party leaders and activist, including BNP joint-secretary general Aman Ullah Aman.

BNP leader Fazlul Haque Milon, Khairul Kabir Khokon and Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, among others, addressed the programme held with Kamrangirchar BNP convener Delwar Hossain in the chair.
