Tight security in the Dhaka streets on Sunday failed to assure transport operators who fear attacks by Opposition activists. Office-goers were suffering due to a paucity of public transport. But four-wheelers, auto-rickshaws and rickshaws were on the roads.

Launch services from Dhaka were also much less in the morning, because passengers were fewer. Only 3 launches left the capital since 9am, he said.

Besides, activists of Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, blasted 13 cocktails and locked into clashes with law enforcers in city’s Khilgaon and Khilkhet areas between 7:50 am and 8:00am Sunday.
