Khoka assails MKA again; demands his removal from Cabinet

He also calls for Murad Jong’s arrest

News - Khoka assails MKA again; demands his removal from Cabinet
BNP vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka blasted Home Minister MK Alamgir again on Tuesday terming him an enemy of the mass people and urging the Prime Minister to remove him from the Cabinet and send him to Mental Hospital in Pabna.

“Many Awami League leaders are calling their Home Minister as a talkative. He is as an enemy of the mass people… many people are saying he is a mad. An insane has no place in the Cabinet as he is supposed to be there in the lunatic asylum in Pabna,” Khoka told a rally in front of BNP’s Nayaplatan central office.

“Sheikh Hasina, if you have any wisdom and minimum sorrow for the Savar tragedy, you please send your Home Minister to the lunatic asylum,” he added.

Khoka, also a former Dhaka city mayor, came up with the demand reacting to the Home Minister’s remarks that Savar multi-storey Rana Plaza might have collapsed with the jerking of its pillars by some pro-hartal opposition activists.

The Home Minister made the comments in an interview with the BBC following the collapse of Rana Plaza at Savar that claimed at least 391 people.

Earlier, at a rally on Saturday, Khoka branded MK Alamgir as a ghost of Pakistani generals Yahia Khan and Tikka Khan, and said he needs to be crushed on the streets for his misdeeds and mindless remarks.

Addressing Tuesday’s brief rally prior to bringing out a mourning procession in memory of those killed and injured in the Savar tragedy by leaders and activists of the 18-party alliance in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, the BNP leader also demanded immediate arrest of the local ruling party MP for sheltering collapsed building owner Sohel Rana.

“The local MP who patronised terrorist Rana and crushed a huge number of people with this terrorist must be arrested immediately. Murad Jong who is responsible for the tragic incident will have to be made the prime accused along with Rana,” the BNP leader asserted.

He also warned that if the government does not take proper action against those responsible for the horrifying incident, the 18-pary will punish them after a judicial investigation if the 18-party comes to power.
