ul-12

The Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3 on Monday fixed June 18 for hearing in the double graft cases against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
She attended the makeshift court in the capital’s Bakhshibazar around 10:55am as she was scheduled to appear before the Special Judge’s Court in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases today.
Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar said the new date has been posted keeping on mind the elections to the Bar council.
Khaleda Zia today filed a petition—that taking testimonies in her absent in those graft cases were not lawful—which the court rejected.
On May 5, the judge of the Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3, Abu Ahmed Jamadar, posted for today the hearing in the graft cases and asked Khaleda to be present during the hearing.
The trial of the corruption cases against Khaleda and eight others began on September 22, 2014. The court framed charges in the two cases on March 19, 2014.
