A police sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his own pistol here on Thursday evening.
Police sources said Sujan Sarker, 30, of Sadar Police Station shot on his head with his official pistol around 7:30pm. He died on the spot.
Contacted, Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Azizul Haque said their colleagues found Sunajn’s body lying on the floor near the rooftop of the police station.
He said Sujan had been in his room since afternoon and killed himself when his roommates and colleagues went out of the room in the evening.
On information, the Deputy Commissioner of the district, senior police officials and a magistrate visited the police station.
Born in Shalikha upazila of Magura, Sujan joined the police as an SI on March 1, 2013.
