BURNT TO DEATH IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES 4 bodies arrive

A coffin containing the body of Ali Akbar, a worker killed in UAE factory fire on June 4, is being taken to his village in Shariatpur for burial.

The bodies of four Bangladeshi nationals, who were killed in a factory fire at Sharjah on June 4, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from United Arab Emirates (UAE) Friday morning.

A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the coffins of the victims landed at the airport at 8:23am, Zahid Hossain, public relations officer of Welfare section of the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, told The Daily Star.

The deceased are Jakir Hossain, Ali Akbar, and Bacchu Hawlader of Shariatpur; and Mizanur Rahman of Faridpur.

The bodies of two others — Khabir Uddin and Al-Amin — were returned to Dhaka after the incident in June, but the bodies of the four victims were kept for autopsy as those were difficult to be identified.

The bodies of four were handed over to the victims’ families along with Tk 35,000 to each family for the burial, said Md Ziauddin, director (admin) of BMET.
