A court here is set to hold further hearing at 3 pm today (Monday) on bail petitions filed by the four bloggers who have been arrested for allegedly defaming Islam.
The four bloggers are Mashiur Rahman Biplob, Russell Parvez Russell, Subrata Adhikari Shuvo and Asif Mohiuddin.
Metropolitan magistrate Erfanullah set the time while hearing the bail petition of Asif Mohiuddin, one of the four bloggers, in the morning.
The four bloggers were first produced before the court on April 10 after the expiry of their police remand on different terms.
At that time, lawyers of the accused filed petitions seeking their bails.
The court then fixed today (Monday) for a hearing on the bail petitions.
The four bloggers were not produced in the court today. They were represented by their lawyers.
DB inspector Mainul Islam today told the court that a case might be filed against the four bloggers under the ICT Act soon. Investigation in this regard is at the final stage, he said.
DB police arrested the three bloggers on April 1 and Asif Mohiuddin on April 3 from the city for their alleged derogatory remarks against Islam and Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
