Hundreds converged at Dhaka’s Shahbagh square on Tuesday as the protesters continued their movement demanding death penalty for the 1971 war criminals for the 15th straight day, the Daily Star reported.

The protesters, popularly known as Projonmo Chottor, chanted revolutionary slogans and rendered the national anthem early on Tuesday, the report said.

On Monday, the protesters declared to hold a grand rally on February 21, the third of its kind since the protest began on February 5 demanding capital punishment to all war criminals, according to the report.

The protesters also called upon the people to write letters commemorating the martyrs of the Liberation War and tie those with balloons and release on February 20, the moment the Pakistani forces surrendered on December 16 in 1971, the report said.

Black flags were hoisted on Monday at Shahbagh and at educational institutions across the country in memory of blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider, who was brutally killed by suspected Islamists, the report said.
