2 killed in Jatrabari ‘gunfight’ with RAB

Two suspected miscreants have been killed in a “gunfight” with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Jatrabari in Dhaka.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

Sub-inspector Momin of Jatrabari police said the incident took place at Katherpool around 2am on Wednesday.

RAB’s media wing director Mufti Mahmud said: “A RAB team was patrolling Katherpool area of Matuail when two youths hurled petrol bombs on RAB’s vehicle. The RAB officials then opened fire that left the duo injured with bullets.”

He said the injured youths were admitted to DMCH where doctors declared them dead.
