Zimbabwe to face BCB XI in practice match from today

Zimbabwe will begin their Bangladesh tour today when they take on a Bangladesh Cricket Board XI in their lone two-day practice match of the series at the BKSP in Savar.

Al-Amin jnr will lead a youthful BCB XI against the Zimbabweans, which included six players from the World Cup winning Bangladesh Under-19 team, namely their skipper Akbar Ali, openers Parvez Hossain and Tanzid Hasan, middle order batsmen Mahmudul Hasan, Shahadat Hossain and pacer Shoriful Islam.

Zimbabwe, who arrived in Dhaka on February 15, will take on the Tigers in their one-off Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, stating on February 22.

Both the teams will then move to Sylhet, where they will play a three-match one-day international series on March 1, 3 and 6 respectively before ending the tour in Dhaka with two Twenty20 internationals on March 9 and 11 respectively.
