Yet another accident in Gopalganj kills 7

At least seven people including three women were killed and four others injured as a bus collided head-on with a microbus at Bhatiapara of Kashini in Gopalganj on Saturday.
The victims were identified as microbus driver Hanif, 28, Babu Sheikh, 45, of Maoli in Narail, Taniya, 30, of Kalia, Mehedi Begum, 40, of Lohagra, Mizanur Rahman, 50, of Lohagara, Brishti, 13, of Bangati in Jessore and Nasir Mia,19, of Jessore. All of the deceased were passengers of the microbus.
Witnesses said the local bus of Ashik Paribahan hit a microbus that was parked on the shoulder of the Dhaka-Khulna highway at 11:00am. The driver died on the spot and other six died at Kashiani Upazila Health Complex. Resident medical officer of the health complex Abdullah Al Mamun said most the victims died from severe head injuries.
Seriously injured Rita, 30, Palash, 25, Jamal, 40, Jony, 28, Jewel 30, and Biplab, 40, have been admitted to the health complex. Two of the seriously injured Rosy, 37, and army officer Asif, 26, were shifted to Gopalganj General Hospital as their conditions were stated to be critical.
Asif could be air lifted to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, said hospital sources.
Kashiani police officer-in-charge (investigation) Mizanur Rahman said police immediately rushed the spot and took the injured people to hospital and cleared the highway.
Gopalganj deputy commissioner M Khalilur Rahman and superintendent of police MM Emran Hossain visited the spot.
