Neymar scored twice to lead Brazil to a 4-1 victory over Cameroon in Brasilia to clinch first place in Group A.

The Barcelona striker directed Luiz Gustavo’s cross behind Cameroon goalkeeper Charles Itandje in the 17th minute for the 100th goal of the tournament in Brazil’s 100th World Cup match.

Cameroon tied it nine minutes later after Allan Nyom’s second-chance cross found Joel Matip at the far post.

But Neymar restored the lead 11 minutes from half-time with some dazzling footwork to work the ball in the middle before beating Itandje, who was moving the wrong way.

Fred scored Brazil’s third goal, which was offside, in the 49th minute by heading a David Luiz cross, and Fernandinho finished the scoring six minutes from time.
