Women’s Cricket: Bangladesh win 2-match ODI series against Pakistan

 

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team won the two-match ODI series 2-0 against touring Pakistan Women team beating them by three wickets in the 2nd and last match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

 

Earlier in the first ODI, Bangladesh made good start beating Pakistan by 43 runs in the first match at the same venue on Tuesday.

 

Replying to Pakistan’s negligible total 87 runs, Bangladesh eves team faced no trouble to reach their target making 88 for 7 in 34.5 overs to seal the fate of the series.

 

Opener Ayesha Rahman scored 29 runs off 90 balls with four boundaries while one down Farzana Haque made 18 runs off 45 balls featuring three fours and Lata Mondol scored 16 runs off 17 balls, including three fours.

 

Pakistan skipper Sana Mir, who earlier scored 18 runs off 68 balls with boundary, also claimed four wickets for 26 runs in her 10 overs spell and was adjudged player of the match.

 

Sumaiya Siddiqi and Nida Dar captured one wicket each conceding 14 and 15 runs respectively.

 

Earlier, Pakistan women’s team batting first after winning the toss and scored 87 runs for all in 46.1 overs with one down Syeda Fatima Abidi scoring 28 runs off 78 balls with three fours.

 

Shohaly Akther grabbed three wickets for 13 run in eight overs while Panna Ghosh, Lata Mondol and Rumana Ahmed took two wickets each conceding 9, 15 and 21 runs respectively.

 

Bangladesh Women team will again meet Pakistan Women team in the two-match T20 series begins on Saturday (March 8) at the same venue.
