Will hold priceline during Ramadan: Govt

The Commerce Ministry says there is sufficient stocks of essential commodities to hold the priceline during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Simultaneously, it has warned against market manipulation like hoarding that could drive up prices in an order issued Sunday.

The Commerce Ministry said it was regularly monitoring supply and prices of essentials like rice, wheat, edible oil, sugar, pulses, onion, ginger, garlic, spices, eggs and dates.

An inter-ministrial emergency meeting on the issue was hosted by Additional Commerce Secretary ATM Murtaza Reza Chowdhury.
