West Indies have clinched the World T20 title after a dramatic thriller in the last over of the final encounter against England.

Nineteen required off the final over. Stokes has a whole bed-rock of cotton-wool to safeguard. And Brathwaite finishes it with 2 balls to spare. 4 consecutive sixes. It was too much to take. The emotions which were flying around at the Eden Gardens.

Marlon Samuels has hit a fabulous fifty also propelled West Indies to chase down the 156-run target by England in the in the final encounter of  World Twenty20 final at the iconic Eden Gardens.

Samuels hammered unbeaten 85-run off 66 balls hitting nine boundaries and two whirlwind maximums.

Root launched England’s bowling effort in a brilliant style as he sent back Charles and Gayle early.

It a sensational start from England as they sent back the Semi-Final star Simmons with a golden duck. Willey celebrated the wicket by  pitching the ball in line with middle and leg, hurtled on to hit the pads – and Hawk-Eye has it hitting the top of the stumps. England are cock-a-hoop. Root showed the way by  picking two West Indian giant batsman –Gayle and  Charles.

England had set a moderate 156-run target losing nine wickets in the in the final encounter of  World Twenty20 final at the iconic Eden Gardens.

England were blown away in the early part of their innings by untimely aggressive strokeplay also the Champion jigs.

On a sparkling evening where the Kolkata crowd overwhelmed with their presence, Darren Sammy won an unprecedented 10th toss in a row and stuck to his mantra of bowling first.

It did not take long for Roy to give a masterclass on how to make a straight ball look unplayable as Badree slid one through his defences in the very first over.

Hales’s stay did not have much longevity too as he found himself hurling a spew of curses, for hitting a filthy ball straight to short fine.

Morgan went, as Badree kept doing his thing. Then there came a period where spectator felt England might put up something competitive with Root and Buttler rallying strongly.

Root sizzled with a half-century and Buttler struck some lusty blows too. But another ill-timed spate of wickets halted the English charge.

West Indies bowling effort settled them in restricting England after splitting the furious partnership by Joe Root and Jos Buttler in the final encounter of  World Twenty20 final at the iconic Eden Gardens.

Root hammered a brilliant 54 off 36 balls hitting seven boundaries before leaving the crease in a Brathwhite delivery.

Brathwhite also bagged Buttler, who scored 36 off 22 balls hitting one boundary and three huge maximums.

Badree and Russell bagged openers in just 11-balls at the pitch.

Badree picked Jason Roy in a brilliant delivery in the opening over. It was a straighter delivery, Roy went for a gentle drive towards mid-on but he was not fully forward at all and left a big gap between bat and ball and it sneaked through.  Jason Roy walked to the pavilion with a duck.
